Welcome to Connect2, what’s changed?

If you are a second or third year, you might be familiar with Connect 2 and you may have used it to book equipment from the ERC. The good news is, this has not changed. Additionally, you can now book open access areas, Workshop Wednesdays sessions, 1:1 and group sessions, Connect 2’s had an upgrade!

Please log in using your user name and password set up at your IT induction. If you have any issues accessing Connect2, please contact a member of the IT help desk situated on the third floor next to the ERC.

Alternatively, you can email

A few things to remember when using Connect2:

  • All bookings made through the ERC are deleted within one hour from the collection time if not collected
  • All inventories are viewable but some resources are subject to the level of study and inductions before access.
  • Bookings can be edited. This allows you to add missing items or change the dates of booking.
  • All Suspended accounts will be unable to access all Lab sites for one week.
  • Bookings can be copied. If you have a comprehensive booking, either current or completed, you can use the
  • booking REF to find, view and copy all items within that basket in on click.
  • All resources due for a return to the ERC is required to be returned by the time stated on the booking.
  • Please ensure that you are in the ERC queue no later than 15 minutes prior to the expiry time, in case you are not served before the return deadline has passed.

Plymouth College of Art Loan Agreement

You are encouraged to make use of all equipment necessary for you to fulfil your creative needs.

Please take care of any equipment you borrow, ensuring that it is returned on time and is in the same condition as when you collected it.

We now operate again, our 3 x Day standard loans agreement for all equipment loans, so when making any bookings you are able to book up to a maximum of 3 days to be fair to all students. If you require the equipment booking/s to be any longer than this, we will need the approval of your Subject or Module Leads by way of email to requesting this approval with them with us. This can all be done in advance by good planning and organisation that we always encourage.

You are also required to return all items yourself that you have booked out and borrowed on your student card, as all the equipment borrowed under the said user name, it is your full responsibility from time of borrowing until time of return and no one else's.

If you do not return the equipment on time by the agreed date, we now operate again our 3 x Suspension Strike Rule. If you break this Rule for a third time, on the third time we will suspend you from borrowing and booking resources and facilities for a period of ONE WEEK. Persistent lateness may result in a longer suspension until the problem has been resolved with your Subject Leader or Module Lead/s.

Please also allow plenty of time to plan and organise any required booking extensions, as if we cannot get to your email in time, due to physically serving students and or staff in front of us and or some staff might, at times be technical demonstrating to be able to respond quickly as expected, so please visit the TP ERC or PC ERC2 on the day to try and resolve smoothly and in a timely manner.

Should any item become damaged whilst in your possession, you must report it to an ERC technician with an explanation of how it became damaged.  If the damage was the result of negligence or misuse, you will be expected to pay for the cost of repair or replacement, and you will be suspended from using the ERC until the matter is satisfactorily resolved with ourselves within the Tavistock Place Equipment Resource Centre (ERC) and or our Palace Court Equipment Store (ERC2) and or with our PCA Finance Department.

Lost or stolen items should be reported immediately to a Multimedia Lab ERC Central Stores Technician/s (if stolen) to the police, where a crime reference number will be provided, of which you would then be required to share with us.

In the case of loss or theft, you may be required to pay for a replacement and you will be suspended from the store until the matter is satisfactorily resolved.

A number of Insurance Companies offer low cost insurance to students to cover personal belongings and equipment borrowed from the College. Details are available via the links on our Connect2 Homepage and the world wide web and we encourage all students to take out their own insurance to give you personally peace of mind and to create without any unwarranted concerns you may have.

In order to access equipment from the Multimedia Lab Equipment Resource Centre, you will be asked to TICK a box to state you agree with the terms and conditions of this booking before you will be able to continue.

Kind Regards
